Fits (4) M-16 mags into a compact, quickly-mounted thigh rig. We have seen riflemen load bearing vests - and so does the media, and the shooter. Officers need a compact but discreet method of carrying reloads that were secure, out of public view, and able to be quickly mounted in a way that allowed tactical movement.
The Assault Rifle Mag Rig - Quad gives you (4) M-4, M-16, or AR-15 mags, slap it on your thigh on your thigh and speed clip it to your belt in seconds. We originally designed this system for the LAPD and LASD patrol rifle programs. It is also compatible with shotgun and taser rigs in use by those departments.
The rig has two double mag pouches with internal dividers fitting 20 (with wedges) and 30 round mags. The mags are secured by a Velcro™ and snap fastened flap. The rig is mounted on a comfortable rubber grip backed foam plate that hugs the leg and will not shift during tactical movement. The belt hanger strap secures the rig to the belt in one of three ways with the SO TECH Speed Clip D-ring that clips to the key hook of the Sam Brown (the belt hanger strap that loops over the belt) or the Belt Hanger Adapter (BHA), sold separately.
FAST: The rig can sit in the squad car (off your heavy belt and away from public attention) until needed when it clips on in seconds.
