|Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) is the process by which hazardous explosive devices are rendered safe. In addition to neutralizing munitions and IEDs, EOD technicians and engineers also respond to other problems. Other duties include disposal of old unstalbe explosives used in mining or quarrying, and unstable fireworks and ammunition. They assisit specialist police units, breaching and enrty teams with boobytrap detection and avoidance. EOD operators will also conduct post blast investigations, escorting VIPs, and supporting government intelligence units. This involves searching and securing all places that the high ranking government officers may travel, stay or visit.
